Game 7 - On The Fly (edit)

RMU Knights 64, OWW Warriors 54
Kevin Coble's 21 points (coulda been 31) led Robert Montgomery U over Oskee Wow-wow, 64-54, in Game 7 - (1/20-1/25). Coble muscled his way back in the starting lineup (for good?) after riding the weight bench the last 2 games, and helped the Knights remain in a first-place tie with Superior Baptist at 6-1. OWW lost its fourth straight, and lost Anthony Tucker for the year due to a chronic case of "lackofacademia."

SBU Crusaders 73, UH Red Storm 36
Superior Baptist followed last week's 103-point explosion with another balanced team effort to beat Hershey, 73-36. Jamelle Cornley had 17 points, and Mike Tisdale & Talor Battle added 15 each for SBU, which could've used any combo of three starters and still beaten the less-than-perfect Storm (1-6). The Crusaders edged past RMU in team scoring, and Battle moved ahead of Manny Harris atop the Super 6 Scoring List.

UNC Doves 58, GLC Crusaders 53
Devan Dumes scored 19 points as Nelson Christian rallied past Great Lakes Christian, 58-53. Deshawn Sims led UNC with 21 points, but it was Dumes' effort on Sunday that carried the Doves. The win doubled UNC's win total and dealt a serious blow to GLC's title hopes. The Crusaders, last year's co-champs with RMU, are now 2 games out of first place with 3 to play and face a "must win" game this week against SBU.

Game 6 - SBU Turns Up The Heat

SBU Crusaders 103, UNC Doves 39
On the coldest week of the year, Lawrence Westbrook and SBU got red hot. Westbrook lit it up for 29 points and Jamelle Cornley added 26 as Superior Baptist became the first team in two years to break the century mark, downing Nelson Christian 103-39 in Game 6 - (1/13 - 1/18). Mike Tisdale and Talor Battle combined for 44 more to help SBU became the first team to total 100+ points since December of 2006, when RMU scored 104 against Nelson Christian. The win keeps the Crusaders tied for first place with RMU at 5-1.

RMU Knights 73, UH Red Storm 49
It didn't take long for Robert Montgomery U to start a new winning streak. Manny Harris scored 21 points as RMU rebounded from a Game 5 loss to beat Hershey, 73-49. Marcus Landry added 18 for the Knights, who won without Kevin Coble in the lineup. Coach Mockler has reportedly benched Coble for skipping weight room workouts. UH (1-5) had a chance to win going into the weekend, but Jon Diebler scored only 3 points on Saturday, and Cyrus Tate, still nursing an ankle injury, didn't play on Sunday.

GLC Crusaders 68, OWW Warriors 43
Great Lakes Christian's Spartan trio of Goran Suton, Kalin Lucas and Raymar Morgan combined for 45 points to lead the Crusaders over Oskee Wow-wow, 68-43. Robbie Hummel added 15 points for GLC (4-2), the first time since Game 2 that Hummel has cracked double digits. Again this week OWW's offense came from Demetri McCamey and Evan Turner, who accounted for 30 of the Warriors' 43 points.

Game 5 - No Moore

E'Twaun Moore blows his chance to be a hero

GLC Crusaders 55, RMU Knights 50
The record-setting RMU winning steak is no Moore. Kalin Lucas scored 20 points to lead Great Lakes Christian past Robert Montgomery U, 55-50 in Game 5 (1/6-1/11), ending RMU's regular season winning streak at 14 games.

It looked good for the Knights heading into Sunday, needing only 10 points from E'Twaun Moore to keep the streak alive. But Moore managed only 4 points on 1-for-12 shooting. Knights' coach Dennis Mockler actually predicted a tough week for his squad, muttering about the "bad matchups" they faced this week. Turned out that the worst matchup was E'Twaun and an wide open jump shot.

GLC coach Eric Shipman was grateful for the win, mainly because it took the spotlight off the unexpected benching of Raymar Morgan, who was replaced in the lineup by Trevon Hughes. Morgan had 13 points as the o.t. guy while Hughes finished with 8 points, but the Crusaders (3-2) still got the win and took over sole possession of third place, one game behind the co-leaders.

SBU Crusaders 54, OWW Warriors 41
Talor Battle scored 21 points to help Superior Baptist grab a share of first place with a 54-41 win over Oskee Wow-wow. Namanja Calasan added 11 points as SBU upped its record to 4-1. OWW's Evan Turner (14 pts) and Demtri McCamey (12) combined for 26 of the Warriors' 41 points.

UH Red Storm 54, UNC Doves 49
Trent Meachem scored 21 points and William Buford added 19 as Hershey won for the first time in forever, 54-49 over Nelson Christian. The game was reduced to a 4-on-4 matchup when UH's Cyrus Tate and UNC's Blake Hoffarber missed the game with injuries. Devan Dumes finished with 17 points and DeShawn Sims added 14 for the Doves, who re-joined the Red Storm in the Super 6 basement.

Game 4 - Kalin Leads The Crusade

GLC Crusaders 66, UH Red Storm 52
Kalin Lucas scored 24 points as Great Lakes Christian rang in the New Year by clocking Hershey, 66-52, in Game 4 (12/30-1/4). Stanley Pringle continued his solid play, tacking on 14 points for the 2-2 Crusaders, who are gearing up for a Game 5 showdown this week against RMU. William Buford and Jeff Peterson scored 16 points each for the still winless Red Storm.

RMU Knights 78, SBU Crusaders 60
Robert Montgomery had its 14th straight win locked up before Manny Harris stepped on the floor. Marcus Landry had 23 points and E'Twaun Moore added 17 as the Knights built an early lead and coasted to a 78-60 win over Superior Baptist. The Knights led 62-60 when Harris came in to rub it in. He finished with 16 points to keep the Knights at the top of the Super 6 standings. SBU lost for the first time this season despite Talor Battle's 26 points. Battle, the Game 4 Player Of The Week, is averaging 25.5 over his last two starts to move into second place on the Super 6 Scoring List.

UNC Doves 59, OWW Warriors 57
Nelson Christian finally cracked the win column, downing Oskee Wow-Wow, 59-57. DeShawn Sims led the way with 14 points for the Doves, who are playing well but only have a 1-3 record to show for their efforts. OWW head coach Scott Slocum almost forgot to include John Shurna in the starting lineup (again). In spite of the oversight, Shurna did everything he could to be memorable, scoring 16 points to lead the Warriors (2-2).
