Good Knight Everybody!
E'Twaun Moore and Manny Harris scored 14 points each as Robert Montgomery won its first postseason title, holding off Nelson Christian 59-56 in the Super 6 Tournament Championship Game (3/3-3/8). RMU's victory wrapped up an 11-1 campaign, including a second straight regular season championship. Coach Mockler is reportedly talking about a three-peat in 2010, and that could easily happen. Everybody's back next season for the Knights except seniors Marcus Landry and the seldom (never) used Kyle Taber. Landry didn't close out his career the way he wanted, scoring only 7 points, but it was just enough to get the win and leave a banner to remember him by. DeShawn Sims' 24 points led the Doves, who almost got enough from Jon Leuer (9 pts) to pull off the upset.
Jake Kelly scored a game-high 19 points as Great Lakes Christian beat Superior Baptist 60-54 in the 3rd place consolation game.

2009 Championship Game
2009 Super 6 Tournament Championship Game
#1 RMU (10-1) vs #3 UNC (6-6)
For The Record ... RMU's 10-1 record speaks for itself, and the Knights avenged their only loss of the season to GLC by routing the Crusaders in the semifinals, 80-64. UNC can finish the season with a winning record, an amazing turnaround considering their 2-6 start. Since then the Doves have posted four straight wins, including a 64-42 victory over SBU in the semifinals.
RMU swept the season series with UNC, winning Game 3 72-66, and 78-47 in Game 8.
#2 SBU will play #4 GLC in the third place consolation game.
OWW and UH aren't worthy.
