E'Twaun Moore and Manny Harris scored 14 points each as Robert Montgomery won its first postseason title, holding off Nelson Christian 59-56 in the Super 6 Tournament Championship Game (3/3-3/8). RMU's victory wrapped up an 11-1 campaign, including a second straight regular season championship. Coach Mockler is reportedly talking about a three-peat in 2010, and that could easily happen. Everybody's back next season for the Knights except seniors Marcus Landry and the seldom (never) used Kyle Taber. Landry didn't close out his career the way he wanted, scoring only 7 points, but it was just enough to get the win and leave a banner to remember him by. DeShawn Sims' 24 points led the Doves, who almost got enough from Jon Leuer (9 pts) to pull off the upset.Jake Kelly scored a game-high 19 points as Great Lakes Christian beat Superior Baptist 60-54 in the 3rd place consolation game.
