Super Ball

Forget the Steelers and Cardinals. The Big Game will be played this week, when Robert Montgomery U and Superior Baptist U battle with the Super 6 regular season title on the line.

Statistically, the two teams couldn't be closer heading into the Game 9 showdown. They each sport 7-1 records, they're tied for the team scoring title at 560 total points each, and feature the league's two top scorers - SBU's Talor Battle and RMU's Manny Harris.

RMU handed SBU its only loss of the season in Game 4, and there's plenty at stake in the rematch. RMU, last year's co-champs with GLC, is trying to become just the third team in Super 6 history to repeat as league champion. SBU is gunning for its second title in three years following a championship run in 2007. The winner will clinch at least a share of the '08/'09 championship with one game to play. In the regular season finale, SBU will take on OWW while RMU will play GLC, the only team to beat the Knights so far this season.

Game 9 in-game boxes - (2/3 - 2/8)
RMU (7-1) @ SBU (7-1)
GLC (4-4) @ UH (1-7)
OWW (3-5) @ UNC (2-6)

Game 8 results: (1/27 - 2/1)
SBU 76, GLC 54 - The loss ended GLC's title hopes.
RMU 78, UNC 47 - Dumes and Sims have done everything they can ...
OWW 50, UH 45 - OWW still has a shot at third place and a .500 record.

Experience Matters ... RMU and SBU have relied on veteran leadership to get this far. Only one of SBU's six '08/'09 signees, #1 overall pick Talor Battle, saw playing time this season, while RMU first-rounder Tom Pritchard is the only one of five Knights' signees to get PT this year.

Wolverines Are Nasty Animals ... RMU's Manny Harris will not be suspended after breaking Chris Kramer's nose on Saturday.
